New Hampshire-based American Cottage introduced the largest number of products in its history at the January Atlanta Gift and Rug shows. This more than tripled its line, swhile adding new tufted, high-loop hooked and combination hooked-and-tufted constructions. Buyers also were treated to a selection of the new 90-line hooked rug designs, 120-line hooked pillows, cotton rugs and washable acrylic rugs.
The Blackwater River Collection is one of the new lines, which designer Jodi Sleeper describes as Swedish Lodge. This colection comes in multiple constructions, including tufted and high loop hooked, and represents a change for Speeper in that several of these rugs contain minimal colors and more of a transitional and even light modern feel, rather than the cottage look for which the company is known.
Many of the copany’s rugs now are stocked in sizes 2x3 to 8x10 or 8x11, with some available in sizes up to 10x14 or 12x15.
